Fees Structure

Many people mistakenly believe that obtaining quality legal representation is beyond their financial means.

Accordingly, our fees have been structured to ensure that any person charged with a criminal offence can obtain representation at an affordable fee, regardless of their personal financial circumstances.

As every matter varies in complexity, the amount of preparation, and the number of court appearances required, it is difficult to provide a specific set fee for offences for which you are charged.  Despite this fact, most matters can be the subject of a negotiated fixed lump sum fee, giving clients the comfort of knowing the exact amount of what their legal costs will be. Of course, we also enter into agreements with clients on an hourly basis, if that suits both parties.

All our legal fees are thoroughly explained to you so that you know exactly what you need to pay and what it covers, ensuring that there will never be any surprise fees.

At David Barrese & Associates, we know and understand that some people do not have the financial means to fund their matter and obtain the best quality representation. Accordingly, we also offer the flexibility in payment of our costs (subject to eligibility criteria), as well as offering eligible clients the option of having their legal fees covered by Victoria Legal Aid.
