Conspiracy

An offence of common law and statute characterised by agreement between two or more people to carry out future unlawful acts or lawful acts by unlawful means, where it is intended that an offence be committed, or the agreement carried out and where acts have been performed in accordance with the agreement. It does not matter that the agreement is in fact never carried out or that it is impossible for the offence to be committed.

The penalties vary for conspiracy and are generally the same as the offence for which the conspiracy relates to, i.e. murder, drug trafficking etc.
